Developing of the National information system for nature protection supervision (NISNPS)
On Friday, 22 July 2011, at the Ministry of Culture, a formal opening ceremony marked the official start of the project "Development of a national information system for monitoring the protection of nature". The objective of this IPA 2009 Twinning Light Project is preservation of the existing biodiversity in Croatia, through the connecting of all institutions related to the implementation of nature protection supervision. The project, with the budget of 250.000 euros, is financed by the European Commission.
Also, a project that will provide additional 450.000 euros from the pre-accession EU funds has been prepared. The project will provide IT equipment needed for the functioning of the nature protection inspector’s/ supervisor’s office in the field. The NISNPS project is being implemented with the assistance of the Spanish group TRAGSA (Agrarian Transformation Company SA) and its subsidiary TRAGSATEC (Agricultural Technologies and Services, SA), and will last until 15 January 2012.
